WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A WIRELESS SECURITY SYSTEM AND A HARD WIRED SECURITY SYSTEM?
Before we address the most common questions about this we must clarify what wireless means. A wireless security system usually refers to a system where there are not wires ran from the control panel to the doors, windows, motion detectors, etc… It is sometimes confused with cellular, which means there is no landline phone connection. Wireless security systems allow for easy installation for homes and businesses that do not have any accessible areas to run wire. Wireless systems are most common in condos, apartments, and some two story houses. A wireless system will need batteries in the door and window sensors and the motion detectors. Victor Security always prefers to install hardwired systems in homes and businesses whenever possible. Our systems are hybrid, so we can hardwire whenever possible and install wireless devices where necessary. Functionally, there is no difference in the operation of a wireless system compared to a traditional hard wired security system.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LANDLINE MONITORING, CELLULAR MONITORING AND INTERNET MONITORING?
Cellular Monitoring:
We can add a cellular module to any system. This is the most secure way of monitoring. It relies on the electric of the house and the back-up battery of the alarm. Cellular monitoring does not require a land line or internet service at the property. You can also access and control your alarm through an app.
Internet Monitoring:
We can add an Internet module to most systems. This uses your modem in order to transmit the signal to the central station. Internet monitoring comes with an app for your smart phone so you can receive real-time text alerts. You can also access and control your alarm through an app. You must have internet service at your premise. Internet monitoring does not require a land line.
Land Line Monitoring:
We can monitor through a traditional landline [Verizon or Comcast]. This is the most inexpensive monthly fee.
